Fire Prevention Week is October 4-10 2015 but everyday you should be thinking about how to protect yourself and your family from the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide.
According to Fire Prevention Canada, “Statistics show that, on average, fire kills eight people each week
in Canada, with residential fires accounting for 73% of these fatalities.”
The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm!” According to the NFPA: “The key message of this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, October 4-10, is to install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area, and on every level of your home, including the basement. Larger homes may need more alarms.”
